2013 May 29

Holland native Alex Archambeau has announced that he will continue his academic and athletic careers at Heidelberg University. While enrolled at Heidelberg, Archambeau plans to major in chemistry.

Archambeau will join 24-year head coach Dr. Brian Haley and the soccer team in the fall of 2013.

While at Springfield High School, Archambeau was named to the Northern Lakes League Senior All-Academic team and graduated with honors.

Archambeau has enjoyed success in soccer, cross country and baseball for the Spartans. Alex was named all-conference honorable mention as a junior and second team all-conference as a senior. In addition, he served as co-captain, received the Goalkeeper Award and boasts 15 career shutouts in net.

Alex is the son of Bret and Aimee Archambeau of Holland.

Heidelberg advanced to the semifinals in the OAC tournament a year ago and is three seasons removed from an OAC regular season title.

Haley, who also serves as Professor of Education & History, has mentored nearly 30 student-athletes to Academic All-OAC honors.
