Alexander Wilhelm Serving on Heidelberg University Student Senate

Alexander Wilhelm of Fremont, Ohio, is serving as a member of the Heidelberg University Student Senate this academic year. Wilhelm is a sophomore majoring in education.

The purpose of Student Senate is to represent the student body through the initiation, organization and regulation of various administrative, social and academic concerns. Student Senate acts as a governing body, attending to relevant issues and protecting the rights of all students. The members also administer and review the funding process for recognized student organizations.

All full-time undergraduate students are eligible to serve on Student Senate; terms are one academic year. Each class elects five representatives. This year, advisors are Kristen Lindsay, assistant dean of Student Affairs for student success and director of the Academic & Career Support Center, and Andrea Wensowitch, director of student engagement.

Founded in 1850, Heidelberg offers 36 courses of study in 19 major fields of concentration, awarding the bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music, as well as master's degrees in education, counseling, business administration and music.
