Christy Hamman Inducted Into Freshman Honorary at Heidelberg University

Christy Hamman of Bloomdale, Ohio, is among 45 students from Heidelberg University who will be inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta, a national honor society that recognizes academic excellence among first-year students. Hamman is a junior majoring in Psychology.

The induction ceremony is being held April 28 on campus. To qualify, students must have achieved a 3.5 or better grade-point average during their first year.

Alpha Lambda delta has more than 230 chapters throughout the United States and more than 750,000 students have been inducted since the first chapter was started 75 years ago.

Founded in 1850, Heidelberg offers 32 majors, 29 minors and nine pre-professional programs, awarding the bachelor of arts, bachelor of science and bachelor of music degrees , as well as master's degrees in education, counseling, business administration and music. Affiliated with the United Church of Christ, Heidelberg has been ranked for 25 consecutive years as one of the top colleges in the Midwest by U.S. News and World Report.
