Courtney Waldsmith to serve as RA at Heidelberg University

Heidelberg University student Courtney Waldsmith of Akron, Ohio, has been selected to serve a leadership role in the Office of Residence Life as a resident assistant for the 2012-13 academic year.

Waldsmith, a senior majoring in education, has joined a team of 30 students who will impact the growth and development of their peers by providing leadership and acting as role models to students they oversee in residence halls and housing complexes on Heidelberg's campus.

RAs also are responsible for designing and implementing programming within their halls around the theme of CHARACTER, short for culture/diversity, health, academic/professional, relationships, art/music, community service, targets, emotional and religious/spiritual.

The Residence Life staff, which operates under the Student Affairs division, will start training later this month in preparation for the beginning of 2012-13 academic year on Aug. 27.

Heidelberg, founded in 1850, offers 36 courses of study in 19 major fields of concentration, awarding the bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music, as well as master's degrees in education, counseling, business administration and music.
