Heidelberg University junior Alyssa Gable of Delphos, Ohio, is among a group of students who will have an international experience during the upcoming spring semester.

Gable, a Psychology and Criminal Justice major, will spend the semester abroad in Seville, Spain.

At Heidelberg, students are encouraged to make study abroad a part of their academic experience. Regardless of major, students can spend a semester, full year or summer term abroad. Heidelberg offers a number of unique study abroad opportunities, including the American Junior Year at the University of Heidelberg in Germany; the Oxford Study Abroad Programme; Spanish studies abroad in Seville, Alicante or Barcelona, Spain; San Juan, Puerto Rico, Havana, Cuba, or Cordoba, Argentina; Cuernavaca, Mexico; the UK, Ireland, Glasgow, Ulsan, South Korea, and other destinations.

There are possibilities for study abroad almost anywhere in the world. Heidelberg has affiliations with programs that offer study in various countries around the world such as American Institute for Forein Study (AIFS), Athena Abroad, the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), International Studies Abroad, and Semester at Sea.

Through these programs, Heidelberg students have studied in places such as Italy, Australia, South Africa, Ghana, Morocco, England, Turkey, South Korea and Costa Rica.

Heidelberg faculty regularly take classes or groups on trips abroad. In recent years, faculty members have taken students to Italy, Greece, Turkey, Germany, Scotland, Belize, Mexico and Canada.
