Jackie White of Bellevue, OH, has been inducted into Heidelberg University's reactivated chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, an honor society for graduate counseling students.
A total of 32 graduate students were inducted into the new chapter during a ceremony on campus April 21. Dr. Daniel Cruikshanks, associate professor of counseling and clinical director, is serving as the chapter's advisor. Officers are: Zachary Ratchen, president; Carolyn Wenner, secretary/treasurer; Kate Hutson, school counseling representative; and Andrew Jump, clinical counseling representative.
Chi Sigma Iota, with its 81,000-plus members nationwide, promotes scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership and excellence in counseling, and recognizes high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the field. It is one of the largest counseling associations in the world advocating for professional counselors and their clients through the promotion of personal and professional excellence.
Heidelberg, founded in 1850, offers 36 courses of study in 19 major fields of concentration, awarding the bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music, as well as master's degrees in education, counseling, business administration and music.
