Katharine Murphy, a junior from Dallas, Texas, majoring in biology, is a member of Heidelberg University's chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, the national service fraternity.

Heidelberg's APO chapter, advised by English professor Dr. David Kimmel, is a co-ed group committed to provide community service, leadership development and social opportunities for college students. Murphy is one of 30 Heidelberg students who perform service on campus and in the Tiffin and Seneca County community throughout the academic year. Nationally, APO is the largest collegiate fraternity with chapters at more than 350 campuses and an active membership of more than 25,000 students.

Founded in 1850, Heidelberg offers 36 courses of study in 19 major fields of concentration, awarding the bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music, as well as master's degrees in education, counseling, business administration and music.
