Leigh Barthel Cast in Heidelberg University Play

Leigh Barthel of San Antonio, Texas, has been cast in Heidelberg University's upcoming production of the John Cariani play, "Almost, Maine," being staged Feb. 21-24.

"Almost, Maine," directed by Chris Tucci, introduces 19 characters at crucial moments of choice in their relationships with one another. The nine short plays occur in different locations around the mythical town of Almost, Maine, and each has its own crisis, emotional temperature and stakes. And in each, there's an element of wonder or "magic." All is not what it seems in Almost. Residents are falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways as the cast inventively explores the mysteries of the human heart with laughter, heartbreak and hope.

Barthel, a junior majoring in Communication & Theatre Arts, is playing the role of Glory.
