Makenzie Dietrich to perform in 'American Songbook' concert at Heidelberg

Makenzie Dietrich, a senior from Napoleon, Ohio, will join this weekend with other voice students at Heidelberg University to present "American Songbook," a concert of songs by iconic composers George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Leonard Bernstein.

Dietrich, who is majoring in Music and Communication & Theatre Arts, is one of 12 vocal students in Heidelberg's School of Music & Theatre who will perform during the concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22. Professional jazz musicians from Detroit, pianist Cliff Monear and bassist Jeff Falsey, are working with the students, and will collaborate with them and Heidelberg percussion instructor Scott Kretzer for the concert.
