Mariah Sullivan to play volleyball at Heidelberg University

Wheelersburg native Mariah Sullivan has announced that she will continue her academic and athletic careers at Heidelberg University. While enrolled at Heidelberg, Sullivan plans to major in athletic training.

Sullivan will join 14-year head coach Jason Miller and the volleyball team in the fall of 2013.

While at South Webster High School, she , a member of the honor roll, joined the National English Honor Society.

Sullivan has enjoyed success in volleyball and basketball for the Jeeps. Sullivan was the 2012 District Player of the Year.. In addition, she was first team All-Southern Ohio Conference three times.

Mariah is the daughter of Ed and Tina Sullivan of Wheelersburg.

Heidelberg volleyball has risen to unprecedented heights during Miller's tenure as head coach. The team has claimed three regular season and one tournament title in the highly competitive Ohio Athletic Conferece. In 2012, Heidelberg volleyball made its sixth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III volleyball regional tournament.

In the classroom, Heidelberg volleyball continues to excel. The 2012 team boasted six Academic All-OAC honorees and had the highest team grade point average of Heidelberg's fall athletic teams.
