Naomi Villaca Traveling Abroad with Heidelberg University Delegation

2012 May 23

Heidelberg University graduating senior Naomi Villaca, a resident of Sherwood, WI, is part of a delegation of Heidelberg University students and faculty members who are currently touring Greece and Turkey as part of a study-abroad experience.

Villaca, who is majoring in political science and Spanish, is on the 12-day tour as part of the delegation led by Dr. Marc O'Reilly, associate professor of political science at Heidelberg. O'Reilly organized the trip as an academic component to his Honors Seminar course titled "Empires." The group is scheduled to return on May 30.

Throughout the course of the trip, the students are visiting some of the world's most extraordinary architecture, art and vistas. O'Reilly said such experiences ideally align with Heidelberg's strategic goals to provide academically excellent experiences for students.

Heidelberg, founded in 1850, offers 36 courses of study in 19 major fields of concentration, awarding the bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music, as well as master's degrees in education, counseling, business administration and music. Affiliated with the United Church of Christ, Heidelberg has been ranked for 24 consecutive years as one of the top colleges in the Midwest by U.S. News and World Report.
