Rebecca Dickinson to Present Research at Heidelberg University

2013 Feb 15

Rebecca Dickinson of Middelburg Heights, Ohio, is among a record number of students who will present their research Feb. 21 as part of Heidelberg University's 20th annual "Minds @ Work" Student Research Conference.

Dickinson, a junior majoring in History, will present "The American Drive-In Theater". Dr. David Hogan is the faculty mentor for the research.

Heidelberg hosts the Student Research Conference annually each spring semester as a way to increase student interest and knowledge in academic research and scholarship. The event is designed to recognize, honor and reward academic excellence and given students an opportunity to experience the conference format of academic inquiry. Earlier this month, 20 faculty members presented their research to demonstrate the conference format and model presentation skills for students.

The keynote speaker for this year's conference is Heidelberg alumnus Dr. Michael Boehm, vice provost for Academic and Strategic Planning and professor of plant pathology at The Ohio State University.

Founded in 1850, Heidelberg offers 32 majors, 29 minors and nine, awarding the bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music, as well as master's degrees in education, counseling, business administration and music. Affiliated with the United Church of Christ, Heidelberg has been ranked for 25 consecutive years as one of the top colleges in the Midwest by U.S. News and World Report.
